Join the committee

Most people simply like to turn up and do bushcare, but as with any organisation, there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to make it all possible. The committee does a lot of things to ensure things run smoothly, including:

  • coordinating working bees and planting days;
  • engaging contractors for major works or specialist jobs that the volunteers can’t tackle;
  • developing site plans and identifying new areas for bushcare;
  • working with numerous stakeholders, including councils, councillors and staff, government agencies, the Greenway Urban Sustainability Project,  and other bushcare groups;
  • arranging training for volunteers;
  • managing grants and other funds;
  • keeping the website up to date; and
  • designing and printing pamphlets.

If you are interested in helping with these aspects of the group’s work, phone secretary Deb Auchinachie on 0410 762 599 or speak to her at a working bee.
